App Health Audit · Fixed price · Five business days
Is your app safe to keep building on?
If your app was built by an agency that’s gone, a freelancer you can’t reach, or an AI tool, you probably can’t tell whether it’s sound. I review the code and the store listings and give you a plain-English answer: what’s fine, what’s risky, what to fix first, and whether to fix or rebuild — with prices.
- Price
- $3,500 fixed for most apps
- Turnaround
- Five business days from code access
- Deliverable
- Written report + 45-minute walkthrough
- Credit
- Applied to any fix or rescue you hire me for
What you get: a written report you own, whoever does the fixing. It is written for a founder or executive, not an engineer, with technical detail in an appendix your next developer can use.
You can take the report to another developer or agency. The point is to know the truth about your app before you spend more on it.
Seven things I check, ranked by risk to you.
1. Security. Exposed keys and secrets, login and permission gaps, who can read your database.
2. Store compliance. Whether you can still ship updates: Google Play’s Android 16 requirement, Apple’s Xcode 26 requirement, and common review rejections.
3. Upgrade risk. Outdated or abandoned dependencies that will block the next release.
4. Stability. Crash and review patterns, and what’s likely behind them.
5. Code health. Whether a new developer could pick this up, or whether it’s a maze.
6. Ownership. Who holds the code, the store accounts, the domains and the keys.
7. The verdict. Fix, stabilize, or rebuild, with a prioritized list and a fixed price for each step.
Who it’s for
Common situations
Your developer or agency is gone
You have an app, a store listing and maybe a repository, and no one who can explain them. I tell you what you actually have.
You built it with an AI tool
Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor got you a working app. Before real users and real data, you want to know it isn’t leaking or fragile.
Something is wrong and no one can say why
Crashes, bad reviews, slow releases, or an estimate for the next feature that doesn’t make sense.
You’re buying, investing in or inheriting an app
An independent review of what you’d be taking on, before the money moves.
How it works
No passwords, no surprises
Short intake
Tell me the app, who built it, and what worries you. I confirm it’s a fit and the price, in writing, before you pay.
Read-only access
You add me as a read-only user on your code repository and, if relevant, as a limited user in App Store Connect and Play Console. No passwords. You can remove access whenever you like.
Five-day review
I review the code and listings, using AI tools to cover ground quickly, and check everything that matters myself.
Report and walkthrough
You get the written report and a 45-minute call to go through it and answer questions. The verdict and next steps come with prices.

Who you’d work with
One developer, start to finish
I’m Dane Hale, a software engineering director in Franklin, Tennessee. I co-founded an app development agency, built and shipped my own app through App Store review, and lead engineering teams in my day job. You’ll deal with me directly, from intake to the final walkthrough.
A straight answer about your app, in writing, in five days.
